01Look beyond the shingle selection
When reviewing a roof proposal, ask what it includes for existing material removal, decking, flashing, ventilation, and the gutter connection. Keep optional upgrades separate from the base scope so you can see what changes the price and what you are choosing.
02Papillion publishes roofing-specific resources
The city's Permit Application and Forms page includes Roofing Requirements Information and an Accessory Use application that lists reroofing. These are useful starting points for questions about your project. Ask which requirements apply to the actual work being proposed, including any related siding or gutter changes.
03Plan the details at the roof edge
If roofing and gutters are both in the scope, discuss their installation order and the existing fascia condition. For a siding update, bring your preferred trim and gutter colors into the same conversation. Record the final selections together so each part of the exterior has a clear place in the plan.
